Situated in an exceptional location at the foothills of the Barrengarry escarpment with mind blowing views over Kangaroo Valley.

Enjoy open plan living including a large galley style kitchen complete with AGA oven and gas cook top. The adjoining living room features an open slow combustion fire place with large sandstone mantle providing a cosy atmosphere to relax by the open fire with friends.
The homestead has been designed to capture the magnificent views with ceiling to floor windows with invisible insect screens. There are also a number of outdoor living spaces, trellised with ornamental grape and star jasmine.
An open but covered breezeway connects the 2 living wings and master bed pavilions to the guest wing which has 3 bedrooms (including a fun Scandinavian style bunk room) and main bathroom.
Both bathrooms feature Carrara marble, heated flooring and towel rails with a gorgeous claw foot bath offering stunning views of the valley off the master suite.
The homestead is safely nestled within a fully fenced paddock with surrounding views of grazing cattle on the rich pastures. They don’t call it kangaroo valley for nothing! Kangaroos and wallabies are frequent visitors at sundown, wombats, echidnas lyrie birds and wedge tail eagles also call sassafras’s home which borders onto national park reserve.
Sassafras provides all the comforts of home and is an ideal getaway to enjoy country walks (along the rainforest cedar trail by the running creek) playing board games, or cuddling up in the snug to watch a film from the extensive DVD collection or simply relaxing.
The property boasts a multitude of private walking trails through rainforest or paddocks, a fire pit hand many fascinating natural features.
There is reverse cycle air conditioning in the master suite wing (covering the master bedroom, kids room with two single beds and snug lounge room) all other bedrooms and living rooms have ceiling fans and portable heaters.
The homes secluded location is part of its charm but there is a 1km dirt road from the gate to the house and it is rough and rocky in some places and not suitable for all cars. Please message Sally if you’d like to make sure it’s suitable for you before you book.

I live in Sydney with my husband and two young children, I grew up on the south coast of NSW and it was always a dream of mine to have a holiday home down south so my children could enjoy the beauty and freedom of the great outdoors.
