I am a florist and a chef from New Zealand. I live with my husband John in the Karangahake gorge, on the riverside, where we have created a beautiful home that we want to share with others! I’ve worked in hospitality for many years; as an owner/operator of a catering business and recently establishing a cafe in Katikati. I now work out of a small floristry studio on the property, where I make dried floral bouquets and arrangements. My husband John is an award-winning sculptor who works on large sculptures in his studio at the back of the property. We enjoy sharing our creative processes with others and our home is part of this. We love to travel. In the late ‘90s we moved with our three children to live in Romania. We set up a home-wares store called ‘Home Sweet Home’ where we sourced antiques, ephemera and artisan hand-made products from local makers. This experience helped to reinforce the power of homemaking, and it has been a passion of mine ever since. Interior design and the curating of objects in a space is what I love, I’m constantly collecting and assembling new things for my home. We both enjoy visiting museums, art galleries and going to hear live music. For fitness and pleasure we like cycling and bush walks, which we can do from our property with great access to the Hauraki Cycle-way and historic walks in the area. Our greatest pleasure is meeting and being with people of different cultures and life experiences. Hospitality is our passion and we look forward to sharing our wonderful home with you!
