At the start of the Great Ocean Road this cosy space is ideal for a comfortable nite stay or a beach holiday with comforts of home. This retreat is a perfect space for couples, solo adventurers and small families. ‘The Gem’ is very near the heart of the township of Torquay, known around the world as a surfing capital. It's a 3 minute drive or a casual 20 min walk where you’ll find beautiful beaches, supermarkets, restaurants and cafe’s.

At the front entrance of ‘The Gem’ you will find two rooms opposite each other. The main bedroom to the right and the living room to the left. The space you have is sectioned off and private with two double doors separating it from the main part of the house. The bedroom is large with a queen size bed, ensuite and kitchen sink. The living room is a much smaller room especially if the sofa is used as a double bed. It has a sliding door to close as a private space. The living room also has a Tv with google chromecast, kettle, rice/vegetable cooker, microwave, sandwich maker, toaster and fridge. Two wooden French doors lead to a patio where you can sit in a sheltered area amongst greenery. In the far distance you can view a glimmer of the ocean or lights from a nearby coastal town at night. The space is on a corner block and pedestrians and/or traffic can be heard at times.

As you enter the front entrance of the house it is your own space and includes the two private rooms opposite each other, divided by the hallway. You will see two double glass doors that will be locked to separate the rest of the house. The front treed area where you enter the accomodation is your own space. There is a driveway to park in out the front of the property.

There is a fridge that can make a slight noise at times. You may like to turn the switch off at nite if guests are sleeping in the living area. Please note -: The sofa bed/couch is a small double bed in the small living room. There is a foam mattress to put on the sofa mattress for comfort. The bedding for the sofa bed is on the shelf near the sink in the main bedroom. Please use the two sheets to sleep between so we can wash the sheets and be as hygienic as possible for all.

It’s a 2 minute drive/5 minute walk to our local fresh produce store, skatepark, surf shops and some take away shops and restaurants. You can take surfing lessons at the local surf beach. By car the famous Bells Beach is a 12 minute drive and there are many more beaches and forest to explore. A 3 minute walk will lead you to a small reserve called Deep Creek and at dusk cockatoos can be heard.
