Welcome to our home! Over many years this now-cottage has been home to many tools, lobster traps, and artwork, but most importantly, it has been home to dreams. Now, we want to welcome you into ours.

We renovated the space with you and our family in mind. Both have always been our goal. The comforts for our small family in mind, that you will love, too. Entering into our home you will feel a warmth and hominess lovingly curated with wood, colour, and history. With a view of Swallow Tail Lighthouse, the water only a minute’s walk away, and hiking close to hand, you’ve got so many options to get outside, or just stay in to enjoy it.
The stars are countless on a clear night, and with the windows open you can hear the waves crashing, the deer huffing, and upon occasion, a whale blowing in the cove. By day let the gorgeous colours of the scenery in trees, flowers, and of the many species of birds here astound you!

As mentioned, this is our home too, and while we won’t be sharing the cottage with you - that’s definitely yours alone - the main house is close by, and the large yard is shared with our adorable (and highly rated ;) ) gift shop, Pettes Cove Arts. Oh, and our little guy who is sure to introduce himself with enthusiasm, and probably a hug!

The cottage has a small kitchen with apartment-sized appliances, including fridge and stove. We've tried our best to leave things set up for cooking, but be warned that the island life here comes with slightly limited hours on the grocery store. If you'll be coming in late, or on a Sunday, please be aware that the Independent closes at 8pm, and is only open 12-5 on Sundays.

Grand Manan is located in the incredible Bay of Fundy, offering everything from whales, birds, hiking trails, kayaking, adorable little cafes, and excellent restaurants to choose from. We're located in North Head near Pettes Cove, which is only a minute's walk away. We're also near the Net Point hiking trail, Swallow Tail Lighthouse, and if you're up for a longer hike, try Hole-in-the-Wall! It's a stunner!

Admittedly, we'll probably be somewhere in-between "I plan to socialize with my guests" and "I give my guests space but am available when needed." I will always try my best to meet and greet you when you arrive, make sure you know what you need to know about the cottage (or even the island) to be able to settle in nicely for your stay.
