Our wonderful family homestay is located in the indigenous village of Turuku, a 20 minute walk from the charming dowtown of Cotacachi. There are multiple rooms, and these are available for individuals, couples or traveling groups. Our guests can practice their Spanish, and experience community life in a small Ecuadorian village enjoying their time close in the little rural town of Cotacachi. Brand new rooms in the second floor with comfortable beds and a shared bathroom with a hot shower that were just built in 2015. Rooms are also available without beds for sleeping on bedrolls with sleeping bags for bigger groups with up to 30 people. Comfortable hammocks surrounded by a beautiful garden are available for you to relax .

As we are located at the feet of Cotacachi volcano and just 30-45 minutes away from Imbabura volcano and the Mojanda lakes we are in perfect environment for all kind of mountain experciences. Each of the mountains counts with numerous trails, which in case of Mountain Cotacachi start right at our doorstep. The range goes from easy 1-2 hour walks through the traditional mountain villages, half-day hikes through beautiful valleys and the stunning Páramo-landscapes to two-day treks up the peaks. We are the perfect basecamp for every kind of hiking and acclimatisation experience and can help you with guided tours in English language!

Turuku is a quiet little indigenous village about a 20-minute walk outside of the downtown Cotacachi. Cotacachi is located at the feet of Cotacachi volcano about 4939 meters of altitud and about 100 km north of Quito. This town is known for its incredible leather-workand handicrafts, it`s located 10min away from a beautiful crater lake named Laguna de Cuicocha and it is surrounded by intense and colourful cultural life consisting of a mix of indigenous, mestizo and colonial traditions.
