This is a studio/efficiency apartment on the lower level of a recently built house in the beautiful & peaceful western NC mountains. It has a separate bath and an outdoor patio overlooking the valley. Great place to get away, and still within 15-40 minutes of so much to do.

The community (High Cove) is equidistant from Bakersville, Burnsville and Spruce Pine, NC. Each is less than 20 minutes away. It's also convenient to Penland School of Craft (10-15 minutes), and about 35 minutes from Mount Mitchell. Or spend a day in Asheville, a tourist's haven with all kinds of attractions, shopping, restaurants, music, art, and more (an hour away).

The efficiency apartment is self contained. Other than periodically sharing the washer/dryer in the utility room, the space is all yours.

Hello fellow travelers! I'm a self-employed freelancer who provides a variety of creative services for audio & video production. I'm semi-retired and travel a fair amount myself. I recently moved to the mountains of Western North Carolina and built a small (sustainably built) house and love it here. The space that's available (and descrbed in this listing) is a cozy studio apartment on the lower level of my house. You'll see I have very positive reviews, but to avoid confusion, some refer to my previous home in Raleigh where I moved from. My house there was often available to guests since I was traveling a lot. A good friend (and experienced Airbnb host) managed it for me when I was on the road.
