The military fuel depot of Mezzocammino located in Vitinia was the scene of a German attack during World War II, at 20:30 on 8 September 1943, shortly after the armistice proclaimed at 19:45 by Badoglio. Near Vitinia there was the villa of Lucio Fabio Cilone, senator, consul and close friend of the emperor Septimius Severus (146-211). In addition to being a historic district, it has all kinds of services such as shops, bars, pizzerias and restaurants, all within walking distance.
