Located in Barcelona, Spain, Blanco Apartamento is a luxury rental apartment in La Barceloneta next to the Mediterranean Sea and beach.
房源空間 The interior of this minimalist structure has a monumental look, presided over by two octagonal stone pillars from which dome ceilings and vaults rise to cover the space.
The single-space concept could be maintained but with greater spatial complexity, by overlapping and intersecting two living spaces: a central, common, multipurpose living area and a perimeter of private designated-use rooms, a bedroom, dressing room, bathroom, storage room, kitchen and study.
The walls do not reach all the way up to the ceiling allowing the vaults and domes to be continuous and visible from throughout the home. But from the ground level, up to the level marked by where the domes begin, the view is partially interrupted by partitions, creating an anticipation of what lies beyond on the other side, and giving contour to the inner world.
The palette of materials is minimal with floors and walls being white to bounce and reflect every beam of light that manages to enter through the openings. The laminated pine dividing walls highlight the items in the center of the space, while contrasting with the white surfaces of the existing walls.
Locals head to the seaside neighborhood of La Barceloneta to surf and sunbathe on Sant Sebastià Beach, and to dine out at al fresco seafood restaurants and traditional tapas bars. Posh yachts fill glitzy marinas like the Port Olímpic complex, which is connected to the beach by a long, palm-lined promenade. The Port Cable Car offers panoramic city views on its way to Montjuïc hill.
