Single-family, New Englander w/a peek of the water - ideally situated in the heart of the West-End! The free-standing cabin-like house is a quick walk to countless restaurants, boutiques, theaters, museums, cocktail lounges, seafood markets, & the island ferry station. Great for couples, small families, residents, & students. You are a 5 min. walk to hip Congress St. & a 10 min. walk to the charming Old Port. We have rehabbed the 150+ y/o carriage-house to create a cozy & secluded in-town space!

The layout & amenities: This is a really special space that we have loved rehabbing over the past year. The house is appointed with basic amenities and a simple layout. The space is about 850+ sq. ft. and really perfect for a couple or very small family who wants: the privacy of a free-standing house (not a condo or apartment), that is in walking distance to West-End points of interest, and appreciates the charm of older historic homes. The cozy bedroom has a queen sized bed. The kitchen is well-stocked with everything you need to cook a holiday meal or lobster bake. We recently built a brand-new 6-foot fence that gives you an added level of privacy and the opportunity to relax outside in solitude.

The house is located near Congress st. and the working water-front, so the outside is bustling with sound. However, the double-paned windows really keep it quiet inside.

Tech: The house is equipped with wifi and has a new flat-screen television. The t.v. has limited channels, the ability to cast, and Netflix. There is a record player and music system for guests to spin tunes.

Unfortunately, there is no specified parking spot, but there is free street parking around the house - that we don't usually find to be an issue (we will send a photo of parking spots).

No smoking or pets.

The West-End is what makes Portland special. You will have the whole house to yourself. The house is located directly down the street from the Historic State Theater, the Victoria Mansion, the Park Street Row Houses, Sagamore Hill Cocktail Lounge, the locals-favorite - Becky's Diner, and countless restaurants and shops on Congress Street. We are also in view of the working water-front where you can go purchase lobster and seafood right down the street at the Free Range Fish and Lobster Market. The house is located about a 10 minute walk from the famous Old Port where noteworthy restaurants like Central Provisions, Street & Company, and Portlanders favorite - J's Oyster. In the Old Port you also have access to wine & spirits tasting rooms, nationally recognized breweries, and the Holy Donut.

We are in walking distance to both Mercy and MMC hospitals.

The house is also near museums and historical points of interest like the Victoria Mansion (1-2 minute walk) and the Portland Museum of Art (5 minute walk). If you are interested in island hopping, the Casco Bay Ferry Terminal is very nearby (15 minute walk). The Narrow Gauge Railroad Station is just a mile away, and the sightseeing Trolley tours are just down the street in the Old Port (one goes right by the house!).

We are only about a mile from the Western Promenade and a little over 1.5 miles to the Eastern Promenade and all the hip places popping up on the East-end.
