Full basement of about 1000 square feet of space with private entrance. 1 bedroom with queen sized bed and closet, private bathroom with stand alone shower. Sleeper futon can be made up and available for additional guests. Private living room area with large flat screen TV/cable and access to high speed internet. Pool table and chess table for your use. Kitchenette with sink, microwave, full sized refrigerator and Keurig coffee maker.

Space provided will be clean and cozy. Plenty of seating in the living space. Owners live upstairs and will most likely be home during your stay. No interaction unless requested. Can be as private as needed, but please know that weekdays we will be up early for work. A fan is provided to block out unwanted noise. Please note that we do have a dog; however, she does not spend time in the basement unless she follows us down to clean and get the space ready for guests.
OF NOTE:
Washer and dryer may be available for lengthier stays (1 week or greater) upon request and with some negotiating, but they are not located in the guests' living space so owner must be home and available.
Deck access can be available upon request as well; however this is shared space.
Plenty of free street parking available. For your convenience and ease of access, please park directly in front of the house to the right of the driveway.
***I follow Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed with expert guidance. Here are a few highlights:
~I sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob
~I use cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies, and I wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination
~I clean each room using extensive cleaning checklists
~I provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay
~I comply with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines

Guests will have full access to the basement level. Since access is from our side yard requiring guests to walk across the grass, we can arrange a different point of entry if need be due to weather concerns. We have lights to illuminate the area if guests will be arriving after dark.
Our laundry room is located on the second floor and may be negotiated for use during extended stays (1 week or greater) if we are home.

We are located perfectly for day trips all around the Washington DC area. We are within 10 miles of 2 metro stops taking guests to DC or you can choose to drive the ~ 20 miles to Washington DC

Judd and I have lived in our house in Centreville for 27 years. We have raised 2 boys into amazing men and sadly watched them leave our home to start their own lives. We loved hosting their friends in the basement for parties, gatherings and sleep overs. We enjoyed hearing the laughter and cheers through the walls. Since our sons are no longer living here, we have decided to share our basement on Airbnb. We hope that our guests will have as much fun and enjoy the space as much as our children and their friends did. As empty nesters, we have begun to have an appreciation for travel and are excited to share our home with fellow travelers.
