La Casa de Zeferina es un espacio para dar hospedaje a viajeros que visitan la capital de Chiapas, Tuxtla Gutiérrez. La construcción fue realizada a mediados del siglo pasado y su estilo arquitectónico es vernáculo, con una base de adobe, teja y madera. La casa de Zeferina, se ubica en la 4ª Pte Nte antes calle Cristóbal Colon, en el barrio de Santo Domingo, al margen sur del Río Sabinal. El cual, en aquellos años, era el límite de la nueva ciudad capital. La casa ha pertenecido a la familia Mendoza desde el siglo XIX. Zeferina Mendoza fue su propietaria original y en esta calle en 1893, un año después de haber sido decretada Tuxtla, como capital del estado, fue construido el primer puente de la ciudad, denominado “Cristóbal Colón” que permite su crecimiento con los llanos norte de la misma. Actualmente la Casa de Zeferina se ubica en el Barrio de Guadalupe, del lado centro norte, del primer cuadro de la ciudad y ha sido acondicionada para dar hospedaje. En la Casa de Zeferina no sólo buscamos rescatar las tradiciones y arquitectura tuxtleca, si no también respetar al medio ambiente, con espacios verdes, manteniendo el arbolado antiguo de la casa, que le da una mayor frescura, comparado al clima de la ciudad, aunado a los frescos pisos de ladrillo que en ella se extienden. Los detalles arquitectónicos y la decoración también son chiapanecos, creemos que el refuerzo y la preservación de nuestra identidad son importantes para su trascendencia. Por ello, contamos un pequeño acervo sobre poesía de autores chiapanecos así como libros de historia de nuestro estado. Nuestra intención es que más allá de tu visita turística, también te empapes de nuestra cultura e historia. En donde podrás en encontrar fotografías y grabados de marimbistas importantes para el estado de Chiapas. Será un gusto conocerte y recibirte en nuestra casa.
