The Garden Room is part of the compound of Ïing Rim/The Old House, a newly renovated colonial era Assam type residential house in a locality with hedges and old world charm.
Ideal for a single person, it is a self contained unit with a bedroom and attached toilet and bathroom with running hot water.
Apart from the complementary breakfast, you have access to the back verandah of the assam type main house, the garden and compound. Long term guests may use our caretakers kitchen.

The Garden Room is a way to make up for our disappointments we faced in our younger travelling days when we looked for budget accommodation which had a character and comforts like running hot water and breakfast. The term Budget should not have meant grotty and crowded.
If you are students or a Solo woman traveller do tell us while booking so that we can offer you our special discount.
The Garden Room is ideal and comfortable for a single person. An extra person can be accommodated for an extra cost. On no account more than two persons will be accommodated in the garden room.

Lawjynriew-Nongthymmai is an old Shillong locality. At one point of time, Lawjynriew-Nongthymmai was the last residential area of Shillong town before the cantonment area began. The area consisted of large estates and clan compounds. We are ten minute walk away from the palace of Mayurbhanj kings which hosted the Indian Institute of Management. 10 minutes away is also Laitumkhrah, Shillong's most multi-cultural educational hub full of cafes and restaurants.
