The studio apartment is located in Santa Ana on Avenida Central, a lively pedestrian street just a 4-minute walk from the trendy Casco Viejo historic district. The open floor plan includes a full-size bed, sofa, small dining table/desk, kitchen, and bathroom. There is no AC but a ceiling fan and dual blade window fan keep the place cool. This is NOT a neighborhood for people that want a polished experience of Panama- there are plenty of options in Casco Viejo if you’re looking for that.

This is my personal apartment that I rent out when I am not in Panama so please treat it with love and respect :) You’ll find the studio apartment is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The living room/bedroom has historic 100-year-old stone walls surrounding it and has sleep space for up to two people. There is a full-size bed that can fit two people snugly. The dining table/desk by the window has two chairs and there are lots of floor cushions for extra seating.
Instead of a television, there is a projector that you can watch from the sofa or bed. Just pull down the blackout shade, turn the projector on, and choose a movie to watch using the included Netflix account.
Wifi internet using a portable hotspot is also provided and you can even take this out with you during the day if you do not have cell phone service ($100 fine if lost or damaged).
There is a new kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, and all the basics you need for cooking. There is local coffee provided that you can enjoy every morning using a french press (instructions included if you aren’t sure how to use one). Tea is also provided for the non-coffee drinkers. The water is safe to drink from the tap.
The shower has great water pressure with hot water if you like, but you’ll find a cold shower feels amazing after walking around this hot city. In the bathroom, you can expect to have four clean towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a hairdryer. There is not an electrical outlet in the bathroom so you will need to use the hairdryer in the main area.
There is a public coin laundry on the third floor that you can use to wash clothes. The cost is $1.50 to wash and $1.50 to dry and it accepts quarters only.
NO AC: The apartment does not have air conditioning so if this is important to you please do not book. I hate being hot so I figured out a way to make the place stay cool without using it. There is a high-powered ceiling fan and a dual blade window fan that exhausts hot air out of the apartment while bringing cooler air inside. There are also three additional fans in the room to keep the space cool.
NO VIEW: This is an interior apartment so there is not a view. However, it is located at the end of the hallway which guarantees privacy and a hammock out here that you can use. There is also a camera for the building located outside the unit to guarantee safety. There is a public balcony on the second and third floors overlooking the lively Central Avenue that you can use as well (lovely spot to enjoy a drink in the evening) as well as a social area on the third floor.
SUPER QUIET: Since the unit is located inside, it’s completely silent which is amazing to find in a normally noisy city.
PLANTS: The unit has several plants with self-watering planters that shouldn’t need much water. If you see the indicator is low please add a little bit of water. The giant cactus will outside only needs a tiny bit of water.

Santa Ana: Outside your door is real-life Panama happening. Fruit and vegetable vendors on the street, the best empanadas are literally in front of the building, colorful street art, music playing, and locals going about their daily lives. This is a neighborhood for people that want to be among locals, rather than tourists. This is NOT a neighborhood for people that want a polished experience of Panama- there are plenty of options in Casco Viejo if you’re looking for that.
