A hidden escape in the Flint Hills of Kansas. This well-appointed hideaway is nestled underneath a yoga studio in a historic stone storefront in Alma, "City of Native Stone". The Flint Hills Hideaway can be your home base for experiencing the area's ranching culture, art, and food. Whether this is vacation or "stay"cation, your own private entrance leads directly to the condo for all your comings and goings.

The living area has two sofas which convert to beds:
-Sofa #1 is queen sized with a comfortable mattress.
-Sofa #2 is a single sized futon sleeper.

Guests have use of the entire basement condo, except one small storage/utility closet.
The ground floor studio space will be locked except for pre-arranged studio rental. Inquire host for more information about this 1000 square foot open space.

Spring time from March-April is famous in the KS Flint Hills for the annual pasture burning, an annual process of renewal which speeds the return of nutrients to the grazing pastures.
Summer is known for cross-country bicycle and motorbike tours through the region, as well as the county 4H fair, and the annual Hot Alma Nights fete, a celebration for motor-heads near and far.
Fall is known for infinite vistas of golden tall grass, and celebrated art shows at the nearby Volland Store, a Place for Art and Community, only 15 minutes west of Alma.
Food within walking distance: The Alma Bakery and Sweet Shoppe, El Corral Mexican Restaurant, Gambino's Pizza, and DJ's Bar for good pub grub.
Notable food within a short drive: Flint Hills Smokehouse in Maple Hill, KS.

We had the opportunity to move to a charming community and are eager for others to enjoy the simple pleasures of small town life. There is much to experience by way of rural culture and prairie scenery. This is the beginning of the American West, and as such, we have nearby bison herds, rodeos, a small museum, and various scenic routes to enjoy. We hope you find your stay at the condo in downtown Alma very comfortable and peaceful.
