At Bauer Ridge have a cup of coffee and watch the sun rise above the Blue Ridge Mountains then in the evening have a glass wine by the gas fire pit to watch the sunset over the Smoky Mountains. A beautiful covered wrap around deck and spectaular views are perfect for an easel, a yoga mat, or a good book. As the only house in sight you will enjoy peace and tranquility. Wildlife abounds on the ridge even an occasional bear sighting.

Bauer Ridge residents include the owners, Mike and Kat Bauer and Kat's parents live in the downstairs apartment. Lyra and Luna, our adventure cats, live in the house but are never allowed to visit the guest room. The room includes Keurig coffee maker, mini fridge and microwave. Breakfast bars and fruit will be available. For your convenience there are an iron and ironing board. A workspace desk with lamp and extra USB ports will make checking work easier. An outdoor electric grill for guests only is available. Grill utensils are provided upon request. Don't worry if you forgot your yoga mat, there are 2 for you to use.

This is a Dark Sky area. A Celestron telescope is available for stargazing. Birding is also fun to do on the ridge. We have binoculars for you to use.

Bauer Ridge is 30 minutes north of downtown Asheville. Mars Hill University is 10 minutes away and Burnsville, NC is 15 minutes. Mt. Mitchel is our claim to fame! A beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway drive to the highest peak east of the Mississippi. Wolf Lodge Ski Resort is only a 30 minute drive. French Broad and Toe Rivers are near by. Tons of trails to hike! We have space to store your gear for paddling, skiing, and biking. Fall Colors on the ridge are breathtaking!
