Although an R.N. by profession, my heart is in the hospitality industry and I enjoy sharing my passion for the mountains and nature with as many people as possible, from all walks of life. My goal is to offer peaceful, relaxing and beautiful places for guests who are looking to re-energize themselves. And, I hope to do this at an affordable rate so many people can enjoy what I have to offer.
My interest in the hospitality industry began many years ago when My husband, Karl and I began opening up our home in Uxbridge, Massachusetts to people who needed a short or long-term place to stay. We rented out bedrooms in our home and shared our kitchen, living room, beautiful sunroom with views, and our only bathroom with a shower, with our guests. Many were complete strangers to us yet we opened up our home and invited them to use it as though it were their own. We felt it was "our calling" to share our home with others in need and envisioned moving up north to NH where we could be more involved in the hospitality industry in the beautiful White Mountains Region. We ended up settling in Grafton County, NH, and finally in the charming town of Monroe, along the Connecticut River.
Karl took an early retirement package from his job at Thermo-Fisher Scientific in Massachusetts after struggling to perfom his job as an electronics technician due to Parkinson's Disease. I took a position as a school nurse at a boarding school in Haverhill, NH and we began our adventure of living in NH and the mountain region.
Karl was a very devoted husband who was the "wind beneath my wings,," and with his encouragement and help he enabled me to fulfill our dream of owning a cabin on a mountain ("Secluded Mountain Cabin on 24 Acres with Big Views")which we are now able to share with so many others. Sadly, in 2019, after 40 years of marriage, Karl lost his battle with Parkinson's Disease, but I carried on with our vision of pursuing our love of hospitality and opened up several beautiful view properties for travelers to enjoy. Thankfully, Karl's caregiver and our dear friend, Jeff, has faithfully provided the needed support and help to care for all the properties to enable our vision to be carried forward.
Karl and I have two wonderful children - a daughter who became a special education teacher and is now raising 5 children with her educator husband, and a son who is presently enjoying a post doctoral position in Atmospheric Chemistry at NASA.
For fun, I enjoy hiking with the family, taking my two standard poodles (Tucker & Lexi) for walks; biking, kayaking, writing, community theater and using my creativity to beautify and improve the properties for guests. I feel God has blessed me with the opportunity to share these beautiful places with so many travelers and I hope people walk away feeling refreshed and inspired by the experience of living isolated away from the pressures of life in the beautiful North Country of New Hampshire.
