Sage Cottage is a cozy holiday home located only 600m from the pristine white sands of Middle Beach. Sage Cottage has three bedrooms and two bathrooms and comfortably sleeps six guests. The living area opens to a sunny covered patio with built-in braai. The patio is the heart of this holiday home and where our guests can linger over a long lunch, spend an afternoon reading or enjoy a cocktail next to the braai fire after a day at the beach. There is a 4th bedroom is available on request.

It's the unique combination of wide open beaches, rocky outcrops and crystal clear tidal lagoons that makes you fall in love with this area. Whether you are just passing by or planning your next holiday trip, you will notice that Kenton-on-Sea is cradled between two rivers, Kariega & Boesmans River (which as a matter of interest, is the longest tidal river in SA ). It's here where you will read all about the history of the well recognised shipwreck, the VOLO. You can't help it, it's just written everywhere as it forms part of the people's core and their families who used to grew up somewhere between Cannon Rocks, Boknes, Boesmans & Kenton-on-Sea. Charles Butt was and is still seen as a Hero, as he and some local villager were involved in the recueing of all 12 members of the Volo in 1896. At the Town Hall in Boesmansriviermond, you will be able to view the anchor of the Volo.
On Route 72, approximately halfway between East London & Port Elizabeth , Kenton-on-Sea is seen as the business centre as it hosts retail outlets, property agencies, private businesses, restaurants, one bank and just one primary school.
Grassland and riverine species on well-planned routes around the area, is where birding enthusiasts spot over 200 species within a 50km radius from Kenton-on-Sea. Rare species like Narina Trogon, a sub-species of the Barred Owl, Purple Heron, Goliath Heron, Pectoral Sandpiper, Mangrove Kingfisher, Painted Snipe, Cuckoo Hawk & Pygmy Goose are but only a few to mention.
The Eastern Cape is home to six internationally recognised Blue Flag Beaches, a status symbol that raises them in both awareness and prestige. Blue Flag is a respected eco-label for beaches, boats and marinas that is internationally recognised as a sign of quality and is regarded by the World Tourism Organisation as the most well-known global eco-label. To achieve Blue Flag status, as many as 33 different criteria must be met across water quality, environmental education and information, environmental management and safety services.
Kariega Beach & Shelly Beach are recognised as Blue Flag Beaches and this should tell you a bit more about this Intriguing area.

Within short distances from Kenton, one has access to various Game Reserves like Sibuya, Kariega and Shamwari , apart from various B&B's and holiday homes situated within Kenton-on-Sea up to Cannon Rocks.
