Enjoy a drive through apple orchards and winding mountain roads to get to this 2-acre secluded, wooded site with a pond on a trout-stocked river. A property to be enjoyed year-round. We now sanitize the apartment after each guest with ozone. I'm told this kills bacteria, germs, and viruses.
Amenities include a fireplace, 43" TV, satellite internet, complete kitchen, hot tub, propane grill, and outdoor showers.
Hendersonville is 15 min. and the Asheville airport is about 18 min.

The apartment is an excellent place for, a romantic get-away to celebrate a special occasion, anniversaries, and birthdays with many activities close by. Or chill by the river and relax in nature.
Private and secluded with a stocked trout river within 20 ft. of the house.
The spring-fed river is crystal clear if it doesn't rain; otherwise, it takes a day or two to become crystal clear again.
There are lot’s to do around Hendersonville for all interests, including the Carl Sandburg Home, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Biltmore Estate, the Dupont estate, Pisgah national forest, waterfalls, hiking, zip lines, rafting, restaurants, breweries, wineries, and shopping. Asheville is nearby and has many interesting, educational, and fun things to do.
We are close to state land and for hiking, kayaking, and hunting.
If you like antiquing there are numerous stores to explore.
Enjoy the bedroom fireplace with a good book and a glass of wine. We supply one Dura-Flame a day for your use. You cannot burn wood in the fireplace.
Go for a walk on the property and visit the ducks and chickens. If you want to feed them, they like cereals and leafy greens.
The river is not deep, but you can go swimming or tubing down parts of it. There are tubes for guest use. Guests have caught trout, and I have some fishing gear you can use.
The kitchen is complete with an oven, microwave, full-size side-by-side refrigerator, ice maker, drip coffee pot, toaster, pots and pans, dinnerware, and glasses. The dining table sits up to 6.

The fold-out couch is queen size and capable of sleeping two. The sheets and pillows are in the bedroom closet.
A queen size blow-up bed is also in the bedroom closet with its sheets folded on top of it.
We provide an additional bath towel for each guest for the hot tub.
Enjoy a continental breakfast. The breakfast consists of different homemade baked goods such as breads, muffins, cookies and whatever strikes my fancy to make. If you want to cook please use our fresh chicken and duck eggs in the fridge which are gathered daily.

The house is in a small private development with dirt roads. It is close to Historic Hendersonville and Asheville. The development backs onto state land.

I moved from NY to NC with Don to enjoy a laid-back existence and to enjoy the mountains and all they have to offer. I do most of the house stuff and he does the outside vegetable and flower gardens, chickens and ducks. I worked for a major bank and managed their customer service department for small business customers. I oversaw the design, development, and implementation of procedures and protocols for all small business customers in a world-class phone center. Don retired from the USPS. I also make pottery, as soon as I get my studio in order, I will continue doing this. We love having the river at my doorstep, hearing the water, swimming, and fishing. The river is stocked with well-fed trout that rarely like what we use as bait but it is enjoyable. After a tough day of fishing, it is always nice to relax in the hot tub and shower outside by the river. I am detailed and try to deliver the best experience for my guests before, during and after their visit. I enjoy entertaining and making people happy without being intrusive. I like working around the house so there are constant changes and improvements. This will not interfere with any guests and their activities. Our two dogs are small, friendly and spoiled. We will keep them out of your way as much as possible.

Have a safe contactless stay. We only enter the apartment when absolutely necessary. Baked snacks and supplies will be left on the white table outside. Our goal is to let you feel like this is your home. We will guide you but not interfere unless it is unsafe, inconsiderate or violates any laws. The house, patios, outdoor shower and hot tub are very private unless someone is in the river. This doesn't happen very often.
