Dar Maktoub is housed in a renovated castle -- the first building in Bouficha that dates back to the Roman Era. We are located on a street built on Roman foundations. Ahmed Bey, the second-last king of the region, once lived in this castle. These stones have witnessed the passing of the Bey era, the Ottoman empire, the French, the Italian, and now you!
This listing is for one of 10 charming rooms available. If you have any special requests, please don't hesitate to reach out.
房源空間 We've renovated this castle into a small bed and breakfast. We have 10 different rooms available, that can accommodate various numbers of people. Each room has a private bathroom and balcony. The main area of the castle is a public area, including a café at the front of the space. There are many little nooks and corners decorated in traditional Arabic style -- carpets, paintings, old saddles, and other antiques that have been passed down for generations. You're welcome to make yourself completely at home here.
We're at the edge of Bouficha, a small town known for its agricultural context: olives, grapes, wheat -- as well as its proximity to the beach. The beach here is pristine -- clear water, white sand, and rockless access. Here in Bouficha we even make glass out of the sand from our beach. Everything in town is within walking distance: restaurants, grocery stores, post office, a bank, etc.
Nearby attractions include: Carthage Land, Port de Plaisance (Yassmine Hammamet), Friguia (large zoological park), Pheradi Majus (ancient Roman archeological city) in Sidi Khelifa.
Bouficha is at the center point between Sousse and Tunis -- exactly 74 km from each city.
Public transportation is available to: Hammamet, Sousse, Tunis, Nabeul, Enfidha-Hammamet International Airport, and other cities.
