An older two-bedroom apartment overlooking a beautiful spring-fed lake. A perfect year-round space for holidays and retreats, or your tranquil home-away-from-home for day trips to the magnificent Ottawa Valley and Algonquin Park. Accommodations include a full kitchen, a separate eating/living area, two small bedrooms, a 3-piece bath, and shared lake access. With winter here, access to the lake for snowshoeing or skiing is available. Bring your own snowshoes/skis.

The suite is located on the upper level of the Longhouse - one of the charming and beautiful accommodations available at the wonderful Avalon Retreat Centre (ARC) on Gorman Lake. A perfect year-round getaway for holidays and retreats, or your tranquil home-away-from-home for day trips to the magnificent Ottawa Valley and Algonquin Park.

Guests have access to the lake from the semi-private dockin the summer, as well as canoes and kayaks for the small fee of $10 per vehicle per trip (please bring your own lifejackets). Stroll to the serene, sandy public beach within walking distance. Enjoy cooking in the fully-equipped private kitchen or grill outdoors on the barbeque.

The location of this aparement is ideal for day trips to Algonquin Park, Shaw Woods, and for the more seasoned hiker, Barron Canyon. Smaller hikes such as the Wilno Heritage Trail, which begins and ends at the Wilno Heritage Park, are a 5 minute drive away. Hikes can range from 3 - 4 km to 15 km hikes. Nordic skiing is a short drive away at Opeongo Hills Noridic Ski club. Snowshoeing and cross country skiing is available to you on the lake with your own equipment.
Biking trails, ATV trails, and snowmobile trails are located within an hour's drive and make a wonderful day trip.
If you like sight seeing, take a self-guided driving tour - Rural Ramble. This way you can do a heritage walk, check out the museums, take the local flavour at the Farmer's Markets, see the waterfalls, and visit local studios all on the same day. Ask us about our area. If you forgot something, Barry's Bay is a quick drive away with grocery and drug stores, and more for your convenience.
