This loft/suite is the entire second floor of our 1880 brick, Victorian-style bed & breakfast. It has a king and a full bed, sitting area, mini-fridge, and large private bathroom with roomy, stand-up shower. We are a professional, licensed bed & breakfast in business for 20+ years.

Inside decor also reflects the Victorian era and history of the families that owned and built the property. The buildings sit on a 2 acre, wooded estate that existed prior to the surrounding NW neighborhood.

Guests have access to the guest room, their room, utility room with mini fridge, scenic gardens and pergola with outdoor seating. Guests are welcomed into the main house for a filling, plated and served breakfast at a time of their choosing at no extra charge.

We have two little Yorkies that you may encounter in the main house. However, if you are allergic or do not prefer dogs, we can make special accommodations to prevent them from impacting your stay. (Although many guests find them to be quite charming!)

Our house was built on top of the hill before the rest of the neighborhood and also is surrounded by woods on 3 sides. We are tucked away from the street and enjoy a private drive. The neighborhood is very safe and is a five minute drive from downtown Cedar Rapids.

My husband and I have operated Belmont Hill together as a licensed B&B for over 20 years. We often stayed in B&Bs when we used to travel and have renovated several historical homes together in addition to owning a furniture refinishing store for 25 years. Belmont Hill combines our talents to offer travelers the comforts of home, while enjoying lush scenery and the added privacy of a separate guest house. We truly enjoy hosting our guests from all over and sharing our little slice of Iowa heaven that we have worked so hard for. From tending the gardens and fountains, to garnishing the breakfast plates, I truly enjoy taking the time to make these special touches to ensure that guests have a positive experience at our property. As we often like to say, if you are tired of the same cookie-cutter, chain hotels, "Let us raise your expectations."

Guests enjoy a room which is separate from the main house. However, my husband and/or I are almost always available to greet guests upon arrival, assist with special requests, and make recommendations on dining and attractions in the area. A filling and freshly-prepared breakfast is served in the main house dining room. Guests are welcome to keep to themselves but I am always happy to chat with them during breakfast about their travels or answer any questions they might have about the property and its history.
