Welcome to our farm, lovely situated in a little valley, with two surrounding rivers. Great view to the mountains, and nice hikes just arround the corner.

Pitoresque, original, beautiful! We are situated in a small valley, about 5 km from the center of our small village (Bygstad), at the inner part of "Dalsfjorden" and the river "Gaula", With a spectacular view to the mountain "Storehesten" (1209 meter above sea level). It is possible to rent a boat in the village, the fishing is often good, and there are limitless possibilities for beautiful mountain hiking in the area, where several lakes offers nice trouts, if you are lucky. We are situated about 160 km north from Bergen, approximatly 3 hours by car. There is a small airport (Bringeland, Førde), 7 km from our home. The closest "city" is Førde (apr 13000 inhabitants), 22 km from our place.

Own guesthouse, with free parking. Bath and toilet on the groundfloor, kitchen/livingroom combined (about 100 squaremeters) on 1. floor with its own balcony, and bedrooms on the 2. floor. We are sorry that we don't offer TV and internet yet, that will be fixed during 2016.
As a guest you are welcome to participate in the farm activities. We will of course advise you about the local possibilities, and when possible join you on a mountain hike, if wanted. The weather are sometimes a challenge in our part of Norway, well known for its rainy climate. Though, summertime can also be nice and sunny, as the winter often offers good snow- and skiing conditions, both off-pist alpine and cross-country. In the summertime we have some nice spots for swimming in the two rivers which surround the farm, and in the fjord. We will gladly show you our treasures!! We don't offer breakfast, but you have all you need in the kitchen to make your own. Though, as a treat, you can obtain fresh eggs from our hens.

Of course, and as you might understand by now, we think this is a wonderful spot. We are sure you will agree :) Our neighbour, Åmot Operagard, is a wonder of its own. A small farm, carefully restaurated by its owners, with its own operastage (!). They offer the possibility for superb meals (must be ordered in advance) in a warm and special atmosphere. Must be seen - and experienced! We can give you their contact information if wanted. We are proud of delivering our grassfed meat to their kitchen.

I'm born in 1971, married to Bjørg, together we are the lucky parentes to two great kids ; Torgeir (-01) and Børge (-03). We run a farm in the western part of Norway, where we breed cattle (Aberdeen Angus). We produce grassfed beef, sold directly to our private customers. "Beside" I'm a medical doctor, graduated in 1998. Earlier I worked with general medicine and family medicine in Alta (northern Norway), but after we decided to take over my parentes farm, I've choosed a more administrative path. Interests beside what I've already mentioned are litterature, movies, physical training (cross country skiing, swimming), fishing and hunting. I also love cooking and food, one of my main targets by travelling is to experience new tastes. I think we are easy people to house, and are also easy people to visit. We have our own guesthouse on the farm, which is possible to rent during all seasons.

We will gladly help you when needed, as mentioned above. About our horses; we have by now 2 riding horses, two younger horses who are not fully trained, and one youngster born in May 2015. You have the possibility to try the horseback, but we are only able to let one person ride at a time, while we will have to follow you on the other horse to maintaine Security.
