At umBhobe Beach House you can relax in hammocks, lounge on the sundecks overlooking the sea, play boardgames, build puzzles, snorkel, surf, swim, collect shells, wallow in rock pools, take long walks on clean clear beaches, enjoy sundowners, whale watch... the list of relaxing, family-reconnecting, battery-charging activities is a long one. If you wish to explore then this is a beautiful area that offers something special and a little different. Quiet, clean beaches, beautiful bays, rock pools, Pennington's safe tidal pools and Scottburg's large swimming beach offer more unwinding and relaxing opportunities, but there are numerous attractions in and around the area to keep the active busy. There are numerous golf courses, including the Umdoni Golf Course, Selborne Park course & Scottburgh golf course. There are also a number of 9-hole courses and driving ranges all within a 5km radius.
The warm Indian ocean offers a rich blend of fish species and this has given rise to a large sport fishing community. This beautiful area offers fishermen a wealth of options and attracts fisherman from all over the country. Besides the excellent bass and deep sea fishing on offer, Rock and surf fishing is very popular, with catches such as shad, sharks and rays, grunter, kingfish and pompono.
Additional options to keep the restless active include mountain biking (trails through the sugar cane fields), shark cage diving, scuba diving, Crocworld and the Vernon Crookes nature reserve. All of these activities are within very easy reach (not more than 20 minutes) of umBhobe Beach House.
Dining options abound as well and there are numerous restaurants and eateries in the region.
