I'm an easily recognizable figure around town- just look for the tall, curly-haired woman with 10
kids in tow! I am a lifelong West Michigan resident, former elementary school teacher, amateur artist and homeschooling mother of 10. I like to spend my time at the beach, especially hiking through the wondrous dune system on our Lakeshore.
Travel is a little complicated these days with the whole family, so we prefer to make adventures in our hometown and live like we are on vacation! We also camp, go to music festivals, and sometimes Ambrose and I make it out to our honeymoon house in Arizona. Having found Airbnb now, I am developing quite the wish list - so much easier to travel with a nice house to use as a family launching pad!
Food is another passion- I love sweets but try to focus on healthy family eating. My family has been painting and selling pumpkins at our local Farmer's market since I was a child. My own kids are taking on the family business now, too!
I used to teach 5th grade and am an elementary education graduate from St. Mary's College. I now spend most of my time homeschooling and managing my household of 12.
The opportunities I've had in hosting guests from around our country and our world have been enriching and impactful. I love being an Airbnb host and advocate for private property rights and community building through meaningful host/guest connections.
