Everything from Bourbon Street, Frenchmen Street, streetcar, bikeshare, and the Central Business District are all just a short stroll away. Private entrance through luscious garden. NEW ORLEANS IS IN PHASE 3.2 - What does that mean? It means that restaurants and bars are able to serve patrons at a limited capacity. If you are thinking of coming down, look at making restaurant reservations if possible. Otherwise, if you don't mind eating and drinking outdoors, then you shouldn't have any issues finding food and drinks on the fly. Live venues are limited at the moment and masks are required by the city when in public. City museums and parks are open and welcoming guests.
***Parties over 2 persons will not be considered and will be turned away upon arrival. Only guests listed on the reservation are allowed on the property.*** Our guesthouse is located in the rear of our property. Estimated to have been built in 1837 (the same date as the main house), this space has gone through a total transformation. A mix of modern and old New Orleans bundled into a small house. There are 8 sets of French doors, and 4 sets of casement windows, allowing for the space to be drenched in natural light. When the weather is nice and a cool breeze is blowing, there is nothing better than opening all the doors and windows so you can take in all the sounds the neighborhood has to offer.
Downstairs is an open living room and kitchen area with a complete 4 piece kitchen suite (full sized fridge stocked with bottled water and a Keurig with coffee), and a moveable island. There is also a flat screen TV with DVR, HBO, Netflix and Amazon Prime. Netflix and Prime are already logged in for you to use. A spiral staircase leads you upstairs where there is a king sized bed, walk-in closet, a spacious bathroom, and 12 foot ceilings with exposed beams. Want to lounge outside? Hang out in the shared courtyard or if you prefer privacy there is a private patio behind the guesthouse.
Parties over 2 persons will not be considered (city law) and will be turned away upon arrival. Only guests listed on the reservation are allowed on the property. We live on the property and make a point of meeting all guests at check-in. Sneaking extra guests onto the property is not a possibility. Any attempt to do so will result in a cancellation of the reservation.
Parking is street parking which is unrestricted and free to all. Cleaning fee is included in the nightly rate so there is no extra hidden fees when staying with us.

Access to the guesthouse is made through a secured gate at the side of the main house. Upon entering the property, guests will have access to the shared courtyard in the back and will have private access to the yard behind the guesthouse. Access to the property is limited to paying guests only.

Also on the property are our 3 attention starved rescue dogs. If you are not comfortable with dogs or are heavily allergic, this space may not be suitable for you as they usually require some head scratching upon greeting.

The Treme is a wonderful and unique neighborhood unlike any other in the United States. St. Augustine Church is on the corner, which leads to many Jazz Funerals and Second Lines. The church also has an amazing Sunday Mass that is open to the public. As a younger nephew noted, "It's not really Sunday Mass, it's a concert!" Mardi Gras Indians regularly wander the neighborhood, as well as brass bands, musicians, and a pair of cowboys who are always walking their llamas, Shetland ponies, and goats. There is always something going on and the people in the neighborhood are friendly and talkative. You can learn just as much about New Orleans from the folks on the street in the Treme as you could with a tour guide charging you an arm and a leg to walk around the Quarter.

We are an easy going couple who have been together 15 years. I'm originally from the sugarcane fields of South Louisiana (Cajun Country) and Brad is a transplant to New Orleans (originally from Washington, D.C. area).
