Arts & Culture

The views from the Getty are breathtaking on a clear day. You can see all the way to the beach. The buildings at the Getty are beautiful. Look for their special exhibits as they are usually excellent. They also have a very nice auditorium where you can see plays, musical events, etc.

Eli Broad has a wonderful personal collection which should be seen when visiting Los Angeles. It is right next to the Disney Concert Hall and across the street from the Museum of Contemporary Art, both venues that are worth visiting.

Walk along the boardwalk to Venice Beach. You will see this beach in lots of films and publicity advertising for Los Angeles. Other beaches further north on Pacific Coast Highway are: County Line, Zuma and Point Dune. Worth the drive up the north coast road to view the ocean and beaches.

Parks & Nature

Runyon Canyon is an LA staple. I feel like you wouldn’t fully see LA if you didn’t visit it. It’s so friendly to everybody. It’s free. You get a beautiful view of the city. And it’s great for people watching. You can go with your kid or baby. It’s dog-friendly. Or you can use it for your afternoon run or hike for the day.Insider tip There is a regular free yoga meet-up. The group has a Facebook page called Runyon Canyon Yoga that provides updates for the schedule. If you go, take an Uber—parking is terrible. http://www.laparks.org/park/runyon-canyon
