Amber's favorite hike in the summer-fall. Wear water shoes, for shallow creek crossing several times. If you're careful you won't get your feet wet. Breathtaking scenery and a cool shady hike. Get there early on weekends or holiday's or you will have to wait in line for cars to exit the parking lot. For fewer crowds go Monday - Thursday

There are three trails at Palatki Heritage Site, one trail that takes you up to the Sinagua cliff dwellings, one that takes you to a view of the dwellings and a third that goes to the alcoves that shelter the painted symbols, or pictographs from every native culture to ever occupy the Verde Valley. These trails, each ¼ mile one way making the round trip distance one and one half mile, are fairly easy but they are not accessible to most wheelchairs.
The area next to the cliff dwelling is limited to ten visitors at a time. Reservations are strongly encouraged. Before you visit, please call for reservations at (928) 282-3854 and read our Archaeological Site Etiquette Guide."

Favorite Swimming Holes
Refreshing water on a hot summer day and sometimes crowded but it's just one of those must see places in Sedona if you like cooling off in the summer. The picnic area is beautiful and kids love it! Wear socks to walk on the slippery rocks and shorts so you don't ruin your swimsuit.

#1 Must see in Sedona! Best views of Cathedral Rock while cooling off in the water and kids love it. There are a few good swimming holes here. Park at the furthest lot away from the entrance and walk up the creek. Bring your socks or water shoes since the pool up there has some slippery rocks to cross if you want to swim. I see so many disheartened kids that visit with their families that aren't prepared to swim.
