The Blue Ridge Parkway offers a serene drive with beautiful overlooks of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Going south from Rt 8 leads to Mabry's Mill and Meadows of Dan. North will take you to Roanoke, Peaks of Otter, and eventually Skyline Drive.

One of the most photographed places in Virginia. Visit the mill, blacksmith shop and spinning room. Have buckwheat pancakes, country ham, and grits inside the dining room surrounded by Mountain Laurels. Live bluegrass music on Sundays between one and four o'clock.
