Edmonton's most scenic patio! The full menu is available on the patio, as is a special BBQ menu. The Hotel MacDonald has a BBQ set up right on the patio, and a chef is grilling burgers, and a bunch of other great smelling stuff right in front of you. It’s a great set-up, and it’s pretty hard to resist once the BBQ smells start wafting across the patio. The Hotel MacDonald has a half dozen beers on tap, including some locals from Alley Kat, plus more in bottles. The selection of beers is less extensive than some, but the ones they have are a pretty good mix of local and imports.

This local chain is a favourite cafe option in Edmonton. This welcoming cafe has great selection of foods, drinks, and desserts. They easily cater to vegan and/or gluten free dietary requirements, and don't even charge more to make a chai with almond milk instead of regular milk. I gather from the menus that they're originally Indian themed; a lot of the food is Indian/Pakistani, and their specialty drink is a traditional sweet chai tea. But they have lots of coffee options too and lots of other food as well. Great place to study/work, come to catch up with friends or treat yourself to a nice drink or dessert any time.

Great before an event at Rogers, even with kids - food is exceptional bang for the buck, service is always top notch, and always seems to be a great drink special. Compared to the more trendy locations downtown, this place is easy to sit down and comfortable to share a meal. Has a separate gluten-free menu (with many of the items, just slightly modified) and I always like a large TV with sports.

We have been thrilled to eat our breakfast at De Dutch on Jasper in Edmonton. The menu is comprehensive, food cooked quickly and the staff are attentive in all regards. Coffee is flowing all the time, their freshly squeezed orange juice is delicious and the food is served hot and freshly cooked. The value for money is great and we certainly have received value and quality.

Great steak house for a lovely evening. The food was really good and the portions were excellent. The service was really quick and spot on. The decor was quite pleasant and tables were nicely setup. Overall a great restaurant.I’d recommend the early bird menu for supper, I think that is available before 6h30pm which has a wide selection of starters and mains at a more affordable price.

Tres Carnales is amongst the best in the world. Awesome, lively, vibrant setting in the heart of Edmonton’s downtown. On busy nights you will find a lineup with people patiently, but excitedly waiting for a seat. Have a beer or sangria while you wait to place your order at the counter before being seated. There is usually only one vegan item on the menu, but it is fabulous! Staff are outstanding.

The decor is old brick, wood floors and concrete pillars were beautiful. It is a nice size room for a small crowd. The meal was served "homestyle". We had herb fresh veggies, mashed potatoes, salmon cooked to perfection and short ribs incredibly tasty. I would highly recommend this place for a gathering. This would be a "great" restaurant. What a great restaurant! Tucked away a block or two from the Rogers Center, it's part of a growing group of chef-owned restaurants in Edmonton. And it shows.Chicken liver can often get tired pretty quick, but this Tantine was great from start to finish with the sweet onion jam bringing some high notes to all that richness. Riding on perfectly crunchy toast. I wanted more.

One of the best bakeries in Edmonton and somewhat under-rated! I’m very fussy about cake and generally find North American baking too sweet and artificial tasting, but they know what they’re doing. Delicious pastry and cakes, balanced, not too sweet and a really cute atmosphere!

Mercers is located in the ICE district making it convenient to stop by for a drink before a concert at Rogers or to go out for a night of dancing! When we arrived at Mercer's, there was a bit of a line. However, the line moved quickly and the bouncers were really friendly. The music, the good vibes and the people were deadly! Mercers is definitely a gem in the city.

Gorgeous design and a number of fantastic staff, Granvilla is a superb addition to Edmonton's vibrant core! The casino is a hotspot for pre-game hockey fans and concert attendees, and has seen some crazy nights after the evening's event (especially when the Oilers win during the playoffs, it's bananas). There are two full-service restaurants and two fast food style storefront counters inside the casino proper, not to mention the main floor 360° white marble bar. Match Eatery occupies the main floor and caters to the sports bar crowd, as well as families (yes, that includes children) during or prior to certain events. The second floor is dominated by the sizeable Atlas Steak & Fish which features an à la carte style menu, seafood towers, smoked prime rib (8oz or 12oz, event nights and Sundays) and the captivating centrepiece of the room, the Josper grill/oven. This truly is what brings people in, in my opinion. No gas or electricity whatsoever, the Josper runs exclusively on mesquite charcoal and a controlled oxygen supply at a wicked 600° to 800°F. It's a waist-high and wide oven with two grills that are pulled out/pushed in (to allow full access to its entire cooking surface) while a chimney flue determines the oxygen VS smoke allowed inside the cooking chamber. It's so hot and smoky that it requires a special hood vent system that costed nearly half a million dollars to purchase and install, about twenty times the cost of the actual Josper itself (source: I ran that oven for about two years in that very location, good times). Go eat there, and try the Tomahawk steak, a 3lb monster ribeye for sharing and of course subsequent bragging.

Truly amazing experience here at GRETA. There’s a wide variety of old school arcade games, which provides a vintage feel to the atmosphere. They have shareable foods from all across the world, which change every few months. Pizza pops and nuggets were delicious. Place was well lit up and decorated for the holidays. The staff are super friendly and helpful. My friend and I had a great time here. We loved the old school tunes they were playing all night long (80s, 90s, 00s).

This is a world class concert hall. Everything about this place is perfect. Over the course of this year, we have been to several concerts here, and none of them have disappointed. There is not a bad seat in the house, and the acoustics are amazing. You can here a pin drop on the stage, even if you are sitting way up in the "nose bleed" section! Big, welcoming, affordable with lots to see! Has a kids section and large gift shop. New, well lite, lots on Indigenous history, great displays in 2 galleries, though at times we felt a disconnect from one display to the next. Be prepared for lots of reading and being on your feet. Short on seated video areas and interactive displays that would appeal to kids. Would need at least a couple of hours
