Romance, spendy, but I nearly died over the scallops. Unexpectedly ridiculous. If possible ask for a view table or the balcony. Whitefish lake is breathtaking. Be sure to spend a little time walking around the place and take in the history, charm and beauty of the place.

Scones change daily and on a very lucky day you can snag a huckleberry scone that will knock your socks off. Don't get me wrong, everything is good. The cinnamon rolls are fresh daily, and the size of my coffee table. I muscle through. Anything from the case is so worth it... Don't miss this little gem.

Scones change daily and on a very lucky day you can snag a huckleberry scone that will knock your socks off. Don't get me wrong, everything is good. The cinnamon rolls are fresh daily, and the size of my coffee table. I muscle through. Anything from the case is so worth it... Don't miss this little gem.

I call this place Nine Pipes Restaurant, historically my family called it that. I think the drive is worth it because the burgers are as good as you can find. The view will tear you up. I feel like my Mission Mountains give a good safe cuddle, that's right, they are mine. The cuddle is real, you will feel it. Go early and take in the museum of the local Native people, so exquisite and real and heartbreaking.

Also, not to compete with myself, but is is a quiet, romantic, sweet community at the hotel. A very special place to me. Summer is a frenzy of wildflowers. Don't miss it.
Skiing is different in Montana, I think, you have to be hearty, this is a heck of a mountain and sometimes it can be in the clouds, but if you get the day... the snow is epic... no lift lines... you know the story. Views will burn into your brain as a place to visit in your head on a bad day.

This mom and pop mountain is really really fun, go there knowing you get to see the lake from the mountain and there will be next to no lift lines. I have had the range from average snow to epic. It is fun and fast either way.

These guys do it all, but I love the horseback rides on trails with real Montana buckaroos to keep you on your horse and in stitches. Also have experienced a Bob Marshall Wilderness trout fishing trip. If you love fishing, this guys - wait for it - will hook you up (hee hee, catch the pun). They knew what they were doing, showed me what I needed to know and stepped in when I forgot. Good peeps.

My favorite local museum. An interesting family history lesson and one of the most complete original home museums I have ever seen. Not always open so call ahead and they will give private or small tours with a bit of notice.
