A luxury lunch or dinner spot, around 25 mins from us.They serve a 25 mile menu which means that all the food served in their restaurant is either produced in the walled vegetable gardens, or produced locally within a 25 mile radius! A favourite spot for a sneaky lunch with my sister!

A luxury lunch or dinner spot, around 25 mins from us.They serve a 25 mile menu which means that all the food served in their restaurant is either produced in the walled vegetable gardens, or produced locally within a 25 mile radius! A favourite spot for a sneaky lunch with my sister!
An absolute favourite of mine!!! Reached in around 25 minutes! This small garden centre had a great offering, and an absolutely fantastic shop selling homewares. The cafe is great, and the food is absolutely on point every time I visit! My go to place for a quick lunch and a poke around on a wet afternoon! Dog friendly!
You could combine a visit with a trip into Lostwithiel- it’s a small town on the river, packed with small independent antique shops. It’s around 5 mins from the nursery. Whilst in the area Restormal Castle is also worth a visit, you can sit on the terrace at the Duchy and see the castle when your eating!

A lovely short stroll along the Camel Trail (around two mins to Groggley where you can access the trail, then about a 25 minute flat walk). These tea gardens are dog friendly, and serve light lunches like crab sandwiches and a great cream tea!!

Strong Adolfos Cafe
This is a favourite spot of mine for breakfast!! The food is always absolutely delicious! Dog friendly and reached within ten minutes! It’s based up at Hawksfield just outside Wadebridge (towards Padstow) and there are a medley of shops at the site to have a look around after you visit the cafe!!

There is a limited menu which changes daily- fresh fish, Thai vegetable curry, Cornish beef shank with winter vegetables and delicious cheese and ham toasties all feature! Would highly recommend- the cakes are something else!

Around 20 minutes from us, Polzeath beach is a real surfing Mecca. Plenty of food to choose from if your visiting over lunch- from taco vans, pasty outlets and fish and chips, to more refined dining at The Waterfront restaurant.

A bustling harbour town, that can be reached in 20-30 mins and an absolute must visit for foodies! It’s lovely to take a stroll along the coast path up with the war monument, or to simply pick around the selection of lovely independent shops in the town! There are restaurants galore to choose from for lunch:

A bustling harbour town, that can be reached in 20-30 mins and an absolute must visit for foodies! It’s lovely to take a stroll along the coast path up with the war monument, or to simply pick around the selection of lovely independent shops in the town! There are restaurants galore to choose from for lunch:

A lovely, long flat cycle trail! If you’ve brought your own bikes, you can join the trail just down the road at Groggley Halt. If not, then you can hire them easily from Bridge Bike Hire in Wadebridge ( 01208 813050). From there you can cycle along into Padstow, or towards Bodmin for a quieter cycle! Perfect for walking too!!! The trail follows the meandering River Camel, and is an absolute wildlife hotspot- you can often see kingfishers, herons and otters along the riverbanks!

If not, then you can hire them easily from Bridge Bike Hire in Wadebridge ( 01208 813050). From there you can cycle along into Padstow, or towards Bodmin for a quieter cycle! Perfect for walking too!!! The trail follows the meandering River Camel, and is an absolute wildlife hotspot- you can often see kingfishers, herons and otters along the riverbanks!
Willow weaving basket making day course
Fantastic willow weaving teacher called Emma Scott. She takes large and small commissions, and runs small basket making workshops! It’s a great relaxing activity for the day, and it doesn’t matter if it’s raining as there is a canvas tent to shelter in from the elements!

Totally beautiful spot to sit out on their terrace and enjoy a glass of their produce! You can also access the vineyard off the Camel Trail! We always like to cheat a bit and drive two mins down the road to Groggley Halt- then walk along the trail (around 20 min walk) to the vineyard! Why not organise and book on to one of their wine tours?!
