Food scene
Perching Parrot, bakery and Beach Rd Deli are great cafes. (Perching parrot dies best and quickest coffee). Finns across the road is the only place open for dinner and has good food. There is also a bottle store there. The local dairy has a great range of necessities plus organic foods. Fruit and veggie store is next door which also sells Gelato and smoothies. St Peter’s Hall is an iconic tiny music venue. We get all kinds of touring and local music regularly. There is a market on the first Saturday of every month in the hall.

Sight Seeing and Artists
Lots of great artists in Paekakariki. On Beach Rd go to the gallery upstairs which features many local artists. Some pottery available in Beach Rd Deli.
Just up Ocean Rd - a short walk from our place - is Harriet Bright's ceramics.

Wellington is only a train ride away. Train station is 8 mins walk from our house . Trains go every 20 mins at peak and half hourly off peak . Pay cash on train or get a Snapper card at the dairy .
