Sightseeing
Port Canaveral is one of the best places to visit. There are 8 different restaurants to choose from all facing the port with spectacular views to watch a rocket launch from Kennedy space center or see a Cruise ship pass by. As a pelican flies over head you may see dolphins playing in the water or feeding from the abundant amount of fish in the Port.
Grill's is the home of the famous shark kebobs, I personally like the mahi mahi sandwich. Rusty's is famous for its oysters. Fishlips has fine dinning on 1st floor with a sports bar on the second floor offering a great fish taco, crabby Mac and cheese with an amazing lobster bisque and my favorite scollop risotto dish. Gators is a sports bar but I think it offers the best view of the port and the wings are awesome.
Boating excursions leave from this area as well whether you are looking to go out deep sea fishing or try your luck gambling on the Victor Cruise ship which departs for a day trip only for a few hours of fun out at sea listening to music and trying your luck at Black Jack, poker or the one armed bandit.

Haulover canal is a must see. The Masquito lagoon connects with the Indian River via the Haulover canal. This area boasts the largest numbers of drum fish in the area.There is a Manatee look out area built high above the water to look down at the manatees feeding and swimming in the canal. I actually saw a baby Manatee minutes after being born feet from this lookout area.There are free boat launch areas along the canal as well spots to park your car along the canal shaded under pine trees perfect for a picnic or fishing from shore. Each time I have visited this area I have seen Dolphins, Manatee's and even wild boars crossing the road and running in the woods. In the evening you can take a bioluminescent tour to witness one of the few places in the world you can see the comb jelly fish light up the water. The tour last two hours with all kayaks and
safety gear being provided as well as very knowledgeable guides to make this unique Florida experience quite special.

This location offers an incredible view over the Banana river as well as providing live music.
Sunset Grille also offers a two hour pontoon boat ride that leaves from the dock on the side of restaurant called Island Boat Rides. Each time I have taken this tour I have seen manatees, dolphins as well as numerous species of birds.The ride takes you by an area called the thousand islands where you with see three different species of mangrove trees where the pelicans nest at night, all the while enjoying the views of million dollar homes over looking the water.The boat is approximately 40 feet long with a bathroom and you can bring your own food and refreshments.
Next to the sunset grille is a local favorite for seafood yet has no view of the water called Florida seafood.The line out the door gives away its reputation.
