Trogir is a remarkable example of urban continuity. The orthogonal street plan of this island settlement dates back to the Hellenistic period and it was embellished by successive rulers with many fine public and domestic buildings and fortifications. Its beautiful Romanesque churches are complemented by the outstanding Renaissance and Baroque buildings from the Venetian period.

Everything Else

Donji Seget is located directly by the sea. The village was built as a type of closed, rectangle settlement. The village was established, when the Trogir nobleman Jakov Rotondo got the allowance to build a fortified tower around the village. The church of St. Antun Padovanski was built in 1758. Several churches from ancient times are in the field, and the one of St. Daniel is probably from the pre Romanic time. In the town and especially in the fields, one can see the forts built for the defence from the Turks. Thanks to the location and the mild climate the population today mainly deals with agriculture, fishing, ship-building and tourism.
