This is hands down my favorite place for brunch in LA and part of the reason I moved to Los Feliz. Stop by for a delicious brunch (the potatoes, eggs fungi, ricotta pancakes, and breakfast pizza are all amazing), or a yummy Italian American style dinner. Jon Hamm's booth is right by the entrance (there's a plaque).

The hike from Fern Dell to the Observatory is one of the most popular in LA. There's an alternate hike that you can take from the Vermont Canyon entrance of the park. Fantastic views and the Observatory is cool too! Take lots of pictures of the Hollywood sign and the James Dean statue.

Fantastic views and the Observatory is cool too! Take lots of pictures of the Hollywood sign and the James Dean statue.
See and be seen at the neighborhood's trendiest reservoir. The 2.2 mile track around the reservoir is a popular walking/jogging route. There's also two grassy parks for relaxing and a very lively dog park. There's a great coffee shop within walking distance called LA Mill

Really nice wooded park at the base of Griffith Park. It feels like you're not in LA. About a 1.1 mile walk from my apartment. There's an outdoor cafe in the park up the hill called Trails Cafe that great for a coffee, breakfast, or lite lunch.

Fern Dell Nature TrailReally nice wooded park at the base of Griffith Park. It feels like you're not in LA. About a 1.1 mile walk from my apartment. There's an outdoor cafe in the park up the hill called Trails Cafe that great for a coffee, breakfast, or lite lunch.
You can visit the original Batcave and also taking a fairly strenuous hike up to the Hollywood sign if you want to get a workout. It's worth it for the amazing views!

You'll eventually reach Roosevelt Golf Course, which is the official entrance. There are several hiking trails that spin off from there, including a route to the Observatory. I come up here several days per week.

This is a Frank Lloyd Wright building located in the middle of Barnsdall Art Park, which is a secret park right in the middle of the city. Great views up there, and a great spot for picnicing. If you look it up, you might be able to tour the house. About a 20 min walk from my apartment.
