The guided tour of the historic Florio Cellars begins with the gigantic vats, eight unique examples built in the late 1800’s and still used for ageing marsala, that greet visitors at the entrance to the Cellars. Once past the huge vats, we enter the Garibaldi Room, a spacious area from where visitors catch a first glimpse of the fascinating barrel cellars. Here visitors can see the weapons given by Giuseppe Garibaldi to Vincenzo Florio to thank him for his loyalty in 1862, before continuing through the Florio and Ingham-Woodhouse Rooms to the barrel cellars. Each of these fascinating cellars is 165 metres long with no less than 104 arches, under which 1,400 kegs and around 600 barrels......

Trapani is a beautiful city, try to see the old town is very nice and cared for.
Trapani was founded by the Elymians to serve as the port of the nearby city of Erice (ancient Eryx), which overlooks it from Monte San Giuliano. The city sits on a low-lying promontory jutting out into the Mediterranean Sea.
It was originally named Drepana or Drépanon from the Greek word for "sickle", because of the curving shape of its harbour. Carthage seized control of the city in 260 BC, subsequently making it an important naval base, but ceded it to Rome in 241 BC following the Battle of the Aegates in the First Punic...

The Sicilian countryside at the Baglio Sorìa Estate is cloaked in the expertise of a viticulture which has its roots deep in history. The well ventilated, hillside terrain composed of clay and red marl is predominantly south facing. Here, the wind currents, solar radiation and the role of temperature form an extremely particular mix which causes a rather interesting complex of soil and climate conditions. The range of vine varieties is exceptionally rich comprising both native vines such as Nero d’Avola, and international varieties from Cabernet Sauvignon to Merlot.
