Food Scene

Great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. There's an outside patio and also a little bakery attached that makes incredible breads. Also their pesto, in the little bakery shop, is the best I have ever tasted. You can also order out their pizzas, which are eclectic and delicious.

This is my second favorite restaurant (of three in Stinson). It has a bar with live music some nights and is a good place to hang out.

Best restaurant around. Make a late afternoon of it: Drive to Pt Reyes Station around 4 or so, look in the great shops, then go to Osteria Stellina for dinner. It's about 20 minutes each way to Pt Reyes Station and worth the drive.

This is a bit of an excursion but worth it. Marshall is a little town on the Tomales Bay. On a sunny day, there is nothing more fun than sitting outside at one of the fresh oyster places and looking at the view while eating oysters cooked any number of ways, or raw, and having a beer.

Parks & Nature

There are great hiking trails all around Stinson. Get a guidebook and find one that meets your energy level. Even just a short walk up the Dipsea Trail (which you can access as you turn left out of town) is fun. You can go up about a mile to a service road, turn right and head west to a big tree with a swing. Walk a little farther and you will find several WWII bunkers. And an amazing view.
