Like beer? Go here. With the best tap run on the north shore, this is your go-to for a burger (try the Lola) and a hard-to-find brew. This is a great casual bar & restaurant that has live music on most Friday & Saturday nights

The Wolf is an awesome casual Mexican take out place directly across the street from the Hideaway House in Miller’s Plaza. Try the Good Wolf burrito or the shrimp tacos. The queso is REALLY REALLY good. Super friendly staff and very quick.

It’s a legend. Go upstairs after 4pm for an old school, nautical vibe. The food is great - try the nachos with steak tips or the Pam roasted halibut - and the drinks are dangerously strong. Go downstairs for lunch and a beer - or later in the evening for a Thunderdome and a loud, fun 21+ crowd. There’s a t-shirt that says it’s one of the top ten sailing bars in the world ... I’m pretty sure it’s true. It’s an institution here.

GO HERE. It’s a hidden chocolate factory and store surrounded by a gorgeous koi pond. I know, right? Stowaway Sweets are famous for their Meltaways, decadent chocolates with whipped fillings that melt away in Ukraine mouth. These things are no joke. Go there, read the thank you notes from celebrities, dignitaries, and regular old chocolate lovers who have these things shipped nationally because they’re that good.... then try them. Also - the honey roasted cashew chocolate bar is devastatingly good.

Feel like having lunch on the water.... but don't have a boat? Itching for a delicious stuffy or bowl of clam chowder? Want a million dollar view for the cost of a (dangerously and amazingly strong) dark & stormy? You're in luck! The Barnacle is a Marblehead institution, perched on rock, stilts, and magic sand that seems to withstand even the strongest Nor'Easters. The view across the harbor to Marblehead Light is arresting and the casual, friendly and fun vibe of both the restaurant and the tiny quarterdeck bar is perfectly New England. Order what you want, as long as you include onion rings somewhere, and enjoy the view.

Soall Bistro is a fantastic spot for lunch, dinner and takeout. Offering fresh, bright Vietnamese cuisine - like the citrus spring rolls, pho, cabbage & shrimp salad - the menu is light, refreshing and healthy... but also satisfying.

The 3Cod is a Marblehead tradition. With a casual dining room serving lunch and dinner service with dark wood and paintings of the ocean on one side, and a fun - sometimes raucous -sports bar with great surround TVs on the other, this place is a great stop for lunch, dinner or a Bloody Mary and brunch after 11:30 on Sundays. Try the fried fish sandwich or the turkey tips.

Town House Square is in the center of Old Town Marblehead and is a working museum and municipal building that was built in 1727. It served as the town hall upstairs and a market downstairs. In the 1700s, Revolutionary Patriots and politicians would argue and plan here, including Elbridge Gerry, a Marbleheader who signed the Declaration of Independence, Articles of Confederation, and was instrumental in drafting and passing our Bill of Rights.
