Best Food in Ubud

Food Scene

Bali is host to gourmet world cuisine as well as local warungs that serve simple rice plates for a few dollars. As avid cooks and foodies, we’ve selected only the places that survived the pandemic who responsibly cared for their staff. Sadly, the list is rather short. We update our food knowledge regularly and only recommend places where we have dined in the past 6 months and meet our definition of a good meal out. We can arrange for special menus and make bookings for you, as often we know the owners and/or Chefs.

Best ramen in Bali! The Balinese owner Ketut handed his restaurant over to his 43 staff when the pandemic hit. He taught them how to run a restaurant from ground up. The staff shared 100% of the profits which was enough for each of them to survive the two difficult years. Cocktails and coffees shine here as Ketut is a talented mixologist at heart!

Great mix of Asian Fusion bites. Interestingly, they have hands down the best burgers in town. Get either the Beef and Bacon or the scrumptious Southern Fried Chicken. Cocktails and coffees shine here as Ketut is a talented mixologist at heart!

A lovely café, which reminds me of France. Have the garlicy escargots, roast roots salad, grilled salmon, and chocolate souffle. Adi always gets the Moroccan Lamb Tangine. This must me the Canadian in me coming out when I just want a bowl of French Onion Soup.

Casual Ubud cafe serving excellent brunch starting at 11 am, healthy salads (with fries for a side?), and great fresh tacos! And if you want a very yum burger, this is the place.
