Arts & Culture

Beautiful museum enclosed by forest. Learn a little about the history of the region, the animals, and space. Visit the Butterfly Garden and outdoor amphitheater. Children will love the outdoor clubhouse filled with snakes, insects, and all types of curiosities. Expect kids to get their feet wet in the small creek where they can float boats, pump water, and make mudpies.

Fun people watching beach. There is an onsite restaurant and outdoor cafe with snacks. Very popular with the locals. Happy Hour gets busy, but is less crowded during the week. It is a dog walking friendly beach. Located on the Mesa.

About a 20 minute walk from our home. It is nestled away in a quiet neighborhood. Lovely park with a playground for children. But if you cut across the grass, follow the hiking trail. It connects to many miles of other hiking trails such as Mission Canyon and Jesusita.

Great hiking trails in this area. Mission Canyon, the Tunnel Trail are all located in this area. Very beautiful and simple to access. The botanical gardens are also just up the road. Worthwhile to google hiking trails in Santa Barbara for more specifics on where to park and how to access the area.
