Mount Nemo is a favourite among hikers in Halton Parks. Away from the crowds and the hustle bustle of the city, Mount Nemo is a peaceful sanctuary for nature walks. Pack a lunch and watch the Turkey Vultures float on the thermals while you take in the panoramic view of the escarpment. On a clear day you can see the CN Tower in Toronto! Mount Nemo isn’t without detours into adventure and exploration. Explore the cave system and rock climb for a better look at the unique cliff-edge eco-system. Naturalists and birders are advised to keep binoculars, a magnifying glass, and a camera on them! Mount Nemo is teeming with biodiversity.

Drinks & Nightlife

Great Pub with Live Music!!! Named after famous English writer Charles Dickens, you are sure to find several odes to the author during your visit here. What’s in a name? when pubs first started hanging signs outside of their establishments in a time when customers were predominately illiterate pub owners would traditionally hang pictorial signs, illustrations that would be recognized by guests often depicting battles, local notables, heros, royal family members... If these walls could talk... What’s a pub without the history of 19th century architecture. Welcome to the residence of Joseph Redman ‘Shoemaker’ circa 1880. Other notable Burlingtonians who once resided within these walls include John Thompson Bastedo who lived here from 1855 to 1873, an agent for D. Moore & Co. in Hamilton and a Postmaster from 1871 or earlier according to Burlington Historical Society. And in 1893 this was home to John Kentner, the owner of a Lumber Yard and Planing Mill which once occupied Brant Street. The Pub still maintains many of the original features and details from the time it was a home to these men and their families, paired with some new additions that were introduced around 1977 when the building was converted for use as a restaurant - it was at this time the Village Square opened. Pub Fare fit for 21st century food lovers. What makes our menu stand out is our commitment to pub traditions from our famous hand made pub pies and selection of desserts which are all made in house, to our traditional beer battered Fish and Chips. On weekends guests come early for Breakfasts, and every Saturday and Sunday night you can bet there’s a Roast in the oven - top all this off with more than a dozen Lagers and Ales on tap, this is your local pub.
