Tokyo's legendary red-light district. Lots of restaurants, bars and dodgy places, as well. Tokyo, including Kabukicho, is a remarkably safe city, but exercise common sense here.

This is the Minami Shinjuku station on the Odakyu Railway. This is a local stop. If you'd like to travel further than Shimo Kitazawa (hip area), I'd recommend catching an express train from Shinjuku

One of Tokyo's biggest, best free parks. Lots of young people out when the weather is nice. You can drink here, unlike some other parks. Good place to spend a lazy day. Lots of festivals nearby

Another subway station that is within walking distance of the house. This subway can actually take you all the way to Yokohama, where you can visit Chinatown, etc.

Cool little complex of restaurants, cafes & bars near the house. Interesting vegetation, neat, eco-friendly design. It's only a couple minutes away. I'd highly recommend paying a visit.

This place is a mad house, but a popular, reasonably inexpensive shopping chain at the entrance of the Kabukicho area. They sell all kinds of stuff. if you're in the area, drop by!
