10 minutes walk down the hill and one of my all-time favourite places in Wellington. Many features including sculptures, the Rose Gardens, Cable Car, Observatory and Peace Flame. If you are walking to or from the CBD, a walk through the Gardens is just as fast as the way by road and well worth a visit.

This park is beautiful to walk or run through and is the only untouched native bush around, thanks to its benefactor Job Wilton, probably one of our first conservationists. In 1860, Wilton fenced off 7 hectares of land from livestock. Otari -Wilton bush today is an expansive 100 hectares and is the only public botanic garden in New Zealand dedicated solely to New Zealand native plants.
