You have to visit the Tomato Place for lunch! At first glance you might not want to go inside, but trust me it is worth the visit! Assuming it isn't 110 outside, it is a perfect casual lunch spot for a Fried Green Tomato Sandwich and a cold coke!

Anchuca has a great restaurant with good wine list and food for dinner. If I were going out for a nice dinner, I would definitely consider Anchuca! They also have a great brunch on Sundays!

Monsour's is great! It is one of the only places open 7 days a week in Vicksburg! They have a great view of the river, good ambience, good food, full bar, and usually live music Thursday - Saturday. You MUST order the biscuits! Deliciously made to order! But don't go if you are in a hurry! This place is laid back, but worth the wait!

Ameristar is probably one of the nicer casinos in town. They also have a really nice restaurant overlooking the twin bridges, called Bourbon's Steakhouse. Lovely view and great food!

Cocktails 101 is a great happy hour or dinner spot. The interior is modern and feels like a boutique hotel lobby. Jonathan is the BEST mixologist in town. His cocktails are awesome! They also have a great appetizer and dinner menu!

Sightseeing
The military park is very interesting, but plan on several hours to drive through the park. It is a stunning drive, and I recommend purchasing the CD or having a guide take you through the park. Lots of interesting history.

This is a great half day trip from Vicksburg to Flora. It takes about 45 minutes to get to the Petrified Forest, but well worth the drive! It is a VERY VERY interesting site and they have an incredible gift shop as well.

If you are lucky enough to be in town on a Saturday night, the Strand Theatre has a variety of movies, live theatre performances offered throughout the year. It is a small historic theatre with great performances! Buy your tickets in advance!
