My favorite live music venue and it has a really good restaurant attached. I have walked there, so it's possible, but it is a short drive. It used to be a movie theater and was built in the 40's.

Local brewery within minutes. They offer live music and other events. Deep Ellum is full of street murals and art galleries, restaurants and bars, and many music venues, especially for indie and blues. Try Braindead Brewing and Canne Rosso, also, for good food.

I love Ft. Worth. It is a little more laid back than Dallas. My favorite places are the Kimbell Art Museum, The Modern Art Museum of Ft. Worth and the very very cool Water Gardens. Try Heim BBQ or Sundance Square for food.
