Food Scene
Tari's serves an incredible tomato-basil bisque for lunch (and dinner!) I particularly enjoy the pecan-crusted salmon filet with spinach and gingered mashed sweet potatoes for dinner. They also have steaks! Weekend dinner is usually busy, but the crowd is gone by 8pm or so. Most places in town close early compared to the city--fair warning. :)

Great homemade soup and salads! Excellent coffee, tea, pie, and truffles. I like the chai latte with almond milk, and the tomato-basil bisque with cream.

For those who frequent Barb's shop you will recognize "Charlie" her Bichon Frise, the store mascot. He seems to spend a good bit of time in the shop on Saturday's doing what he does best - greeting the public. This is a great place to pick up a souvenir from your stay--I love the camp-style coffee mugs.

He seems to spend a good bit of time in the shop on Saturday's doing what he does best - greeting the public. This is a great place to pick up a souvenir from your stay--I love the camp-style coffee mugs.
We love the deals we find here on interesting items from around the world--including Himalayan salt lamps and stones. The owner is very friendly--he may even offer you a cup of (very strong) tea if he has a pot made!

Crunch Time Escapes is owned by an enterprising young woman named Jenna. The classic "escape room experience" for groups gets frequent updates due to her clever ideas. I love that she has converted an historic home on our same street for this purpose!

This health food store is a short two-block walk from the front door. It carries organic soups, salads, sandwiches, and food items to stock the kitchen with for your stay. This is the closest grocery store, but it closes early. Stop in when you arrive to stock up on what you need! Prices are competitive with organic markets in larger cities, as well. Food Lion is a few miles south, just past Rite Aid, and is open later.

I love everything about this place! You can book an indoor Roman mineral bath for $15. After Memorial Day, the outdoor pool is open. Pay a visit to the monument called George Washington's bathtub. Wade in the surrounding spring water--it is 74 degrees year-round! Ask the locals what The Promenade used to be known for at the turn of the last century...it is quite a charming, shaded place. The park has a fantastic summer music concert series on the weekends! Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and a picnic and relax...

Pay a visit to the monument called George Washington's bathtub. Wade in the surrounding spring water--it is 74 degrees year-round! Ask the locals what The Promenade used to be known for at the turn of the last century...it is quite a charming, shaded place. The park has a fantastic summer music concert series on the weekends! Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and a picnic and relax...
Panorama Overlook is west along Rt. 9 approximately 3 miles from Berkeley Springs. Today, a pull-off provides a scenic view of three states and two rivers rated by National Geographic as one of the five best in the East. The scene also encapsulates America's transportation history showing the C&O Canal on the Maryland side of the river and the B&O Railroad on the West Virginia side.
The overlook marks the end of the Cacapon Mountain which runs north more than thirty miles. Composed of Oriskany sandstone, it plunges nearly 1000 feet into the Potomac.
