Best Places with Kids
If you are seeing Cape Town with kids, as parents ourselves, here are some of our favorite places.
The Blue Water Café has a stunning view of the ocean and the mountains, a lovely outside play area as well as a petting zoo just nearby. You can spend the day here (which you should plan to do, because it is a bit of a drive) but it is well worth it with chocolate tasting, wine tasting, small shops and cafe's, a farm stall and camel rides, but if you go, breakfast or lunch is our favourite- all their choices are good, but our favorite is the Bacon, Fig & blue Cheese pizza- Delicious!

Reasonably priced and so much fun for the little ones, this can give you a time to have fun as a family right next to the beach. Follow it up with a walk on the beach and throw some food to the diving seagulls or collect some shells. :)

Muizenberg Putt-Putt

We do a lovely walk from Muizenberg Beach front along the beach (most of it is on a walk-way, and can be done with a stroller.) all the way to Kalk Bay. You can pick a restaurant (Check our other recommendations) or just grab an ice-cream at the Ice Café which is just opposite the train station, then hop on the train for a quick 5 minute ride back to Muizenberg. The train ticket is cheap (kids under 6 are free), and the walk is only about 30-50 minutes depending on how many shells you stop to collect.

Best Ice Cream in Cape Town! Skip those fancy ice cream parlors and taste dome delicious Gelato made by down to earth locals in Kalk Bay. A fantastic spot for kids!

This is such a great spot to eat with kids- High chairs, and a little wading beach which is blocked from the ocean, but with plenty of sand to keep those sand castle's coming, you can't go wrong here. Breathe the summer air in their covered outdoor seating and listen to the sounds of the ocean and gaze out over the water- a stunning place to eat. They have great food too, with good cocktails, craft beers, and other unpretentious food.

This is probably the best fish and chips in Cape Town, freshly caught, and located right on the harbour. The price is so cheap you will question how they are still in business, but they are a local's favorite. A must for a quick bite or take it home and enjoy it on our beautiful deck- I promise, it will taste even better!
