Review from Customer The Gluten Free choices are out of this world. I am always skeptical of Gluten Free food in restaurants, as it's usually pretty nasty. NOT the case here. I got the Hangman's Rare Roast Beef on a Gluten Free bun (which was sooo amazing). Hubby got the Garlic Stuffed burger. Both meals were fantastic. We will be back to try some of the other choices, there are so many! The service was top notch. Everyone was super friendly, Seth took the time to explain the prep of of the food, since I am GF and answered so many of our questions. He was great! Our server (I am ashamed I forgot her name) was very patient and so nice. We felt so welcome that if we lived here, Dooley's would always be a first choice. 102 E Main St, Wilkesboro, NC 28697

Rendezvous Mountain is popularly rumored to have been an assembly point for the Overmountain Men during the Revolutionary War.[4] Colonel Benjamin Cleveland is said to have called militiamen from around Wilkes County, by blowing a large ox horn from the mountain's summit.[4][5] Cleveland was able to summon over 200 Patriots from the surrounding area to join him on a march to the Battle of Kings Mountain.[4][5] The route they took is now commemorated by the nearby Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail. In 1926, the forest's original 146-acre (0.59 km2) tract was donated to the state by Judge T. B. Finley of North Wilkesboro for inclusion in the State Park System; however, the unit was never opened to the public due to its small size, inaccessible location, and questionable historic significance.[3] The land was transferred to the Division of Forestry in 1956.[3] It was later opened to the public in 1984 as an educational state forest.[2] In the early 2000s, the forest was greatly expanded when large tracts along its western boundary became available. 1956 Rendezvous Mountain Rd, Purlear, NC 28665 Phone: (336) 667-5072

This short hike has huge rewards for people of all ages. The parking lot is large enough to accommodate everyone. A downhill hike takes you to a gorgeous, generous wall of water, with the added thrill of being able to walk completely around behind the falls and be cooled by the blowing mist. Maybe 30-45 minutes of activity, but perfect excursion. Following paved walkways from the parking area, you can walk directly underneath the tumbling 75-foot waterfall. Dry Falls is located on U.S. 64 between Franklin and Highlands.
