Distance From Unit: 4 Miles Neighborhood Description: Downtown is a relatively large area full of restaurants, bars, rooftop hotel lounges, honky-tonks, country music, and museums but most people think of classic “Downtown Nashville” as the main strip of “Broadway.” Here you'll find all the classic honky-tonks, newer country bars, three story bars and venues, rooftops, restaurants, karaoke bars, and FLOODS of tourists. It's the staple of Nashville but typically very crowded and hard to find parking(I recommend parking at the public library parking garage on the corner of 7th Ave N and Church Street. It’s usually capped off at a much more affordable rate than most garages Downtown). Locals only typically end up on Broadway when we have friends/family visiting but outside that main strip, we do sometimes venture out for great food, cocktail bars, and entertainment. Host Recommendations: I typically just recommend getting on the strip and trying out anywhere the music sounds to your liking. There are a few places I will typically take friends/family where there might be shorter lines and more-so “traditional” country: Robert’s Western World: One of the classic original honky-tonks still around. Known for authentic old school country music and fried bologna sandwiches). Layla’s: Old school country vibe where you will most likely find some traditional honky-tonk/bluegrass/rockabilly style music. “Printers Alley:” This is an alley of bars and restaurants that we as locals will visit. It’s usually less busy and you can often find nicer cocktails, burlesque entertainment, and blues music. Right above “Printer’s Alley” you will find several of the fancier boutique hotel bars, and rooftops. Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar: Great place to check out live local blues bands. Skull’s Rainbow Room: Live Jazz, craft cocktails, burlesque performances and GREAT food. Miss Kelley’s: Divey basement karaoke bar Alley Taps: Tucked away music venue and bar with great traditional country that’s not typically crowded.
