The "village" is a stretch of La Mesa Blvd located about 3 miles from the Casita Estrella. There are some fantastic restaurants, pubs, and second-hand shopping to be found and enjoyed. We can recommend some very kid-friendly, dog-friendly, and adult-friendly spots to hit for a fun night out.

The "village" is a stretch of La Mesa Blvd located about 3 miles from the Casita Estrella. There are some fantastic restaurants, pubs, and second-hand shopping to be found and enjoyed. We can recommend some very kid-friendly, dog-friendly, and adult-friendly spots to hit for a fun night out.
This was the first location we lived at when we moved to San Diego. It's a funky, eclectic, raw, unique little beach town at the end of the 8 freeway. The town is filled with breweries, unique shopping, a total "hippie" vibe, and some amazing food spots from upscale seafood to gut-busting burgers. All year long on Wednesdays is the local farmer's market where you can buy some funky gifts and get a full meal. Foods range from very Vegan and Veggie friendly, to fresh caught seafood, and many international cuisines.
